Munich

The Oktoberfest might be Munich’s most famous attraction, but this city has so much more to offer. Take a walk through the vast English Garden at sunset, one of Europe’s largest parks. Meet with friends in the shade of a chestnut tree in one of the city’s many beer gardens.

Munich is a safe city – with one of the lowest crime rates in the country according to official police statistics. So dive into Munich’s buzzing nightlife the whole year through. Cheer for your football team in the Allianz Arena when the FC Bayern hosts a Champions League match.

Enjoy world-class art in the Pinakothek galleries, which feature paintings by Dürer, Rubens, van Gogh and Picasso, only steps away from the University campus.

The Alps are an absolute must-see. From the city they can be seen rising in the distance. Get on the train, and in just about an hour you are there. Go skiing there in winter or hiking in summer.
