With an almost 200 years tradition the Technische Hochschule Nürnberg is a University of Applied Sciences with a strong practical focus in both academic education and research activities. Twelve faculties in four major areas offer basic and advanced degree programs as well as professional development programs and cooperative education programs.
With more than 10.500 students, 276 professors and 485 lecturers, the Technische Hochschule Nürnberg is the second-largest university of applied sciences in Bavaria and one of the largest nationwide. As the most research-intensive of all Bavarian universities of applied sciences and leading in third-party funds, the Technische Hochschule Nürnberg maintains excellent ties with local and international companies.
The university is also active as a global player and has established more than 140 international partnerships with other esteemed universities worldwide. Particularly after the EU eastern enlargement, the city has profited from its central location within the European economic region. City of Trade Fairs
Nuremberg is one of Europe's fastest growing trade fair locations. Every year, over 1.2 million people visit about 100 events and about 50 specialist trade fairs and congresses, including the world's largest specialist trade fair for toys.
