Student Stories

Wenfei from China

Wenfei Guo is originally from China and studies Innovation Business Service at Rovaniemi UAS in Finland. She is spending a semester as an exchange student at the University of Applied Sciences Augsburg. After graduating, she plans to open her own clothing and cosmetics store.

“Before I came to Augsburg to study, I had been travelling in Germany. I found that it’s a really amazing country. It’s advanced in technology and education. Bavaria is the most famous region, that’s why I really wanted to study here,” she explains.

Wenfei feels very much at home at her university, as the lecturers and the other students are very nice. The 19-year-old has adapted to her new surroundings very quickly: “There may be small differences between Finland and Germany, but I think most things are the same. I got used to life here very soon,” she says.

In her spare time Wenfei likes to take part in activities organised by her university’s SWOP-team (“Student Welcome and Orientation Project”): “We went on a trip to Neuschwanstein Castle, visited Munich and the Christmas market,” she says.

Wenfei’s tip for other international students: “Don’t bring too many things with you to Bavaria. You can buy everything you need here.”
