Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt

Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt provides education in the fields of technology and business for over 7,500 students. The approximately 75 Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes are closely linked to the university's main focus - mobility technologies. The engineering, computer science or economics degree programmes prepare students for demanding jobs in the profession.

This practical orientation is also lived in research: with numerous partners from the industrial environment as well as the CARISSMA research building and our research institutes, the campus offers excellent teaching and research conditions. The field of study "Life Sciences" is structured as a cross-sectional topic across all faculties. We focus on healthcare and lifestyle technologies. Our goal is to produce interdisciplinarily educated graduates who, as engineers, computer scientists, or economists, combine a subject-specific qualification with a basic medical education. Social coexistence and a liveable, biodiverse and resource-saving environment are of great concern to us - with the Faculty of Sustainable Infrastructure at the Neuburg Campus, we are positioning ourselves in a future field that offers numerous levers for improving environmental balances and CO² emissions in terms of economics, civil engineering and construction chemistry.

A core feature of the studies at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt is application orientation: internships and project work as well as cooperation with regional companies are central components of every degree programme. In addition, the University of Applied Sciences is distinguished by its family character. Individual support ensures the success of a highly qualified education.

Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt itself is an international university and has anchored this self-image centrally in its mission statement and goals. In all fields of research, teaching and administration, the university thus takes into account the growing globalisation and the associated expectations of education on the part of companies and society, and above all the students.

Ingolstadt

Ingolstadt is often associated with a famous car manufacturer, the literary birthplace of Frankenstein and the origins of the German Beer Purity Law. However, the city is so much more! With more than 140,000 inhabitants Ingolstadt is the fifth largest city in Bavaria, based in a central and convenient location between the cosmopolitan cities of Munich and Nuremberg. Munich airport is only 70 kilometres away. An interesting fact many people are not aware of is that Ingolstadt was already a university town between 1472 and 1800. The roots of today’s Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich reach back to this university.

All amenities in the city are within easy reach. The University’s campus is located in the city centre, with many halls of residence and shopping facilities in close proximity. As the city is home to 6.900 students, there is a lively nightlife with many parties and events. A theatre and cinemas offer further entertainment. For those interested in culture there are unique museums and exhibitions as well as various leisure activities for sports enthusiasts. You can easily make new contacts through one of the University’s many student groups.

With its many historical sights Ingolstadt has been able to preserve small-town charm, despite its size. The city offers an ideal combination of history, tradition and modern urban flair. Many events and festivities allow visitors to experience typical Bavarian traditions throughout the year.

Come to Ingolstadt and explore the impressive history and lively present of Bavaria’s youngest metropolis!
