The Academy of Fine Arts Munich can look back on over 200 years of history and is located in Munich’s artistic area, close to other universities, numerous museums and galleries.

A personal atmosphere is created in the art classes and in the courses of study, which gives every single student the possibility to express his or her artistic talent. Independence and personal responsibility are the fundamental instructing principals, as is the encouragement of exceptional artistic talent according to individual interests and areas of specialisation.

Degree courses and application

Overview of current courses and workshops (only in German)

For a successful application, a portfolio containing artistic works must be handed in. A positive assessment of the portfolio is followed up by practical and oral examinations.
