Universität der Bundeswehr München

The Universität der Bundeswehr München (University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich) was founded in 1973 with the aim of providing officers and officer candidates with an excellent university education. Currently, around 3,000 students are enrolled at the university.

In contrast to other Bavarian universities, the Universität der Bundeswehr München operates on a trimester system, with three terms per year. Study programmes in small groups with intensive support and supervision allow students to finish Bachelor’s degrees within three and Master’s degrees within four years.

The Universität der Bundeswehr München co-operates with regional and international enterprises in the aerospace, automotive and electronic industries in numerous research programmes. Together with the Technical University Munich (TUM), the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) and Bauhaus Luftfahrt, the Universität der Bundeswehr München takes part in the “Munich Aerospace” programme. The university is also involved in the Bavarian International Campus Aerospace and Security (BICAS) project, in co-operation with TUM, the University of Applied Sciences Munich, EADS and IABG.

International exchange (non-degree students) or doctoral students can apply for study and research visits at the university.
